Understanding the layout

Paper size and ruling are separate. The initial approximately 7.1 mm spacing can be widened or narrowed while Letter dimensions stay unchanged. A longer handwritten line is not always easier to read, so leave useful margins and paragraph breaks. Print one sample before preparing a stack for a binder.

Using the sheet

Start with the preset when its dimensions match the task, then change only the settings you actually need. The parent generator linked below explains the wider choice of layouts. Keeping a note of your final settings makes it easier to create another matching sheet later.

Choosing the settings

Select the paper that is physically loaded in your printer. Download the PDF for a dimensioned print and choose Actual size or 100%, rather than Fit. The on screen preview is reduced to fit the browser and is not an actual size measurement. SVG keeps editable vector outlines; PNG is useful when an image file is required.

A practical example

Keep Letter and the starting ruling. Download the PDF and select Letter at 100% in the printer dialog. Write a few lines to test the spacing with the actual pen or pencil.

Before you print

The generator does not punch binder holes or account for every binder layout. Leave the margin needed for your filing method.
