Weaving Draft Paper
Print weaving draft paper with separate threading, tie up, drawdown and treadling areas. The four quadrants provide a meaningful draft structure rather than a single grid relabeled as a weaving plan.
Understanding the layout
Each quadrant has a different role in the draft. Threading describes warp assignments, tie up connects the control arrangement, treadling records the sequence, and drawdown provides a place to represent the resulting interlacement. The blank sheet does not calculate one quadrant from the others. The starting layout uses four shafts and four treadles, with the remaining page area allocated to the warp and weft chart.
Using the sheet
Write the drafting convention and loom setup beside the sheet before marking cells. Fill a small repeat carefully and check it against the method you use for reading drafts. Keep the labels visible when photocopying a completed page so the quadrants cannot be confused. A larger drawing area is helpful for checking repeats, while a short draft can be more convenient for a sample or classroom explanation.
Choosing the settings
Spacing / size controls the cell dimension in every quadrant. Smaller cells fit more warp ends and weft picks on the page; larger cells are easier to mark by hand. Paper size and orientation change the available chart area. The four shaft and four treadle starting structure is disclosed rather than implying compatibility with every loom configuration.
A practical example
Choose A4 with 5 mm spacing. Download the SVG and locate all four labeled quadrants. Count four shaft rows in the threading area and four treadle columns in the tie up. Sketch a short repeat and verify it manually before using the draft at a loom.
Before you print
This is blank draft paper, not weaving simulation software. It does not compute drawdown, check floats or validate a loom setup. Its four shaft and four treadle structure must suit the exercise you are planning.

Common question
Will filling the tie up automatically create the drawdown?
No. All areas are printed blank. You enter and verify the draft using your own weaving method.
