Understanding the layout

A checklist is useful when each row describes something that can be checked unambiguously. Short action statements are usually easier to use than vague topic headings. The box records your decision that an item is complete; the paper does not verify that decision. A blank layout keeps the list flexible for packing, lesson preparation, household tasks or a project handover.

Using the sheet

Choose a title that identifies the activity or occasion. Put one checkable action on each row and group related items in a sensible order. Leave spare rows for things discovered during the task. For a list that several people will use, add names or initials by hand where responsibility matters rather than assuming that a checked box explains who completed the work.

Choosing the settings

Sheet title replaces the generic heading. Writing row height sets the vertical space available for each item, so larger values produce fewer rows. Paper and orientation change the available area. The checkbox size remains appropriate to the row instead of expanding to fill the whole writing space.

A practical example

Choose A4, set Sheet title to Class preparation and keep an 8 mm writing row height. Download the PDF. Write separate items for preparing the materials, checking the printouts and arranging the room. Each should have its own box and enough space for a brief note.
