Understanding the layout

A flash card works best when its prompt has a clear focus. The generator supplies the physical layout, not the learning content. Card size is kept exact so a finished set can fit a familiar storage box or be combined with existing cards. The blank starting interior leaves room for diagrams; lined mode is available when written answers benefit from a guide.

Using the sheet

Write one prompt on a card and keep the answer concise enough to check quickly. Separate several unrelated ideas into different cards instead of packing them into one small rectangle. For classroom materials, try a sample with the actual handwriting or drawing size first. Cut only after checking the printed dimensions, especially when the cards must fit a holder.

Choosing the settings

Card size chooses 3 x 5 inches, 4 x 6 inches or A7. Card ruling changes the interior without changing the cut outline. Paper size and orientation determine how many whole cards fit. These are single sided blank sheets, so any answer on the reverse must be positioned by your own printing or writing method.

A practical example

Choose A4 portrait paper, 3 x 5 inch cards and Blank ruling. Download a PDF. The sheet should contain three complete card outlines. Write a vocabulary prompt on each after printing and add the answer on the reverse by hand, keeping both sides associated correctly.

Before you print

The tool does not generate questions, translate vocabulary or create a spaced repetition schedule. It does not provide automatic duplex alignment. A useful study set still requires accurate content and review.
