Actual Size Printable Ruler
Open an actual size ruler configuration with an eight inch starting length. Actual size describes the intended print scale, not a promise that every browser or printer will display it physically one to one.
Understanding the layout
The file contains dimensioned ruler geometry. A display fits the preview to the available area, while a print dialog may apply its own scaling. Those are separate steps. The eight inch starting length is 203.2 mm, and it is chosen to fit ordinary paper more practically than a twelve inch strip.
Using the sheet
Start with the preset when its dimensions match the task, then change only the settings you actually need. The parent generator linked below explains the wider choice of layouts. Keeping a note of your final settings makes it easier to create another matching sheet later.
Choosing the settings
Select the paper that is physically loaded in your printer. Download the PDF for a dimensioned print and choose Actual size or 100%, rather than Fit. The on screen preview is reduced to fit the browser and is not an actual size measurement. SVG keeps editable vector outlines; PNG is useful when an image file is required.
A practical example
Download the PDF and choose Actual size or 100% in the print dialog. Measure a four inch interval from the intended scale marks with a trusted ruler. Use the calibration sheet if the result differs.
Before you print
Do not measure objects against the browser preview. Screen scaling and device pixel density are not calibrated by this tool.

Common question
Can I change this preset before downloading?
Yes. It is a starting configuration, not a locked image. Inspect the updated preview and any fit warning before exporting.
